Riddle for Exeter book

Prologue

13th picture

Different, is what I see myself to be. Being somewhere you really have no desire of being, feeling as if you we're out of your element was the feeling I had. Me and my boys standing out from others at this event which happens to be a school function. Pictures were taking with smiles that didn't have a happy meaning on the other side. I had know I tensions of the flashing of cameras being zoomed in focused on me. Overall it turned out to be ok.

Writing Warm ups

Warm up#1
It all started when I was in the 3rd grade really not having a clue about football. But as time progressed I started to get real friendly with the sport. I can say I really wasn’t as good as I am today, not because of age but skill wise. From that time period I’ve put in so much work on and off the field to become a better athlete. It turned out to be a good deed for me because, now I’m good enough to play at the next level, and my hard work and ambition paid off.
Warm up#2
“I have trouble writing because,” being a young writer many thoughts pass through my head, and with me being flustered with thoughts takes away time from me writing on paper. Also, jumping from different topics, which I’ve noticed I do often.

As they continue in the second circle they notice a monster demon named Minos. He’s like the body guard of this level of hell, but he stands at the front of an endless line of sinners, assigning them to their torments. The sinners also confess their sins to him, then he would wrap his tail around himself a certain amount of times indicating the number of the circle to which the soul must go. Dante tries to enter pass Minos warns Dante not to enter because he sees that Dante is not dead, but Virgil shares a couple words with Minos to let him enter. Virgil and Dante are walking through dark paths with ceaselessly rain and winds as if it was an endless hurricane. This circle is where the sinners of lust are placed. Canterbury Tales

-->

  CANTERBURY TALES
For the Knight I would have to use Ray Winstone that played Beowulf in a film. The reason I would choose him because the prologue mentions that“There was a Knight, a most distinguished man, who from the day on which he first began to ride abroad had followed chivalry, truth honor, generousness and courtesy.”I believe this quote relates to Ray Winston as Beowulf simple because the knight and he stood for the same thing they were both willing to fight for their country on others land. He was also a generous men he didn’t mind giving to the people.  In that movie we can see that Beowulf(Ray Winstone) is a good fighter, he shares the things he have received from war with the people in the village. Also in the Prologue it talks about how great of a warrior he was, he traveled and fought near the Mediterranean coast which was near the same grounds Beowulf was at war. He also went to Denmark to save the people there.
For the Doctor, I would choose Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler has played in a movie called “Just go with it “as a doctor. The reason I am choosing Adam Sandler is because the prologue talks about his relationship with the pharmacist how they worked together and made money. “All his apothecaries in a tribe were ready with the drugs he would prescribe and each made money from the other's guide.” Also the prologue mentions that the Doctor is really good at his job, and he have his ways of talking to the patients to get them to go see the pharmacist. He also wasn’t very relidious as in following the bible, so this is a perfect fit for Adam Sandler. In “Just go with it”, his role was kind of the same.

I’m chosen you use Master P from the movie “I Got the Hook Up” to play the Pardoner. One of the Pardoner’s favorite sayings is “Radix malorum est cupiditas” which means in English the Greed for money. Master P was just as money hungry as the Pardoner. He would do, tell and sell anything to make a little money. He wasn’t really a stand in front of the crowd, tell a bunch of fibs and hope to receive money type person he was more of a set up shop person. He had his own cellular phone company with bad service but lied to the buyers saying the service was good. He and the Pardoner is similar in quite a bit of ways that’s why I chose Master P.

Journal #2

“…For my Ambition, easy to dream a dream, though it’s harder to live it, they’re going to love me for my ambition, easy to dream a dream, though it’s harder to live it, They’re going to love me for my ambition, easy to dream a dream, though it’s harder to live it, look, they’re going to love me for my ambition, beautiful music, painting pictures that be my vision…”  This song is by a well-known artist that goes by the name of Wale and the song is titled Ambition.  Since the debut of this song it has inspired me to never give up and to keep my vision for success.  I know I have the potential to become anything I want to be but when I start to doubt myself I turn this song on and I know that I have to get back to business and accomplish every goal that I have set for myself so that I can make my dream a reality.  There is an excerpt in the song that catches my attention every time I hear it which is “…The time is now on everything took my heart away from money aint interested in fame but I pray that never change ambition is priceless It’s something that’s in your veins.”  This song inspired me to be more focused in any and everything that I do and gain all the knowledge that I can because I know what I do now will have an impact on my future.

Alien Invasion

Running down the sidewalk as I fought against wind pushing through the workout. I see citizens o my town scattering everywhere yelling “aliens! Aliens!” As one of the citizens crossed my face I reached out to him and asked “what’s going on?”
“Theirs an alien attack soon to happen and out of all us there be only one that will live and flee on a safety ship” Tom said while trying to find safety. So I ran home as fast as I could; soon as I step foot in the door sound of crumbling paper was under my shoe. I unraveled the paper and it read “you are the chosen one.”
Short and precise the note was, but I could hear the voice of the man I reached out to retelling me the way to escape the town. After I got done thinking about that I started to pack everything I could within 5 minutes, then I was on my way to the safety ship.

Journal #1

Calmly waiting impatiently for a sound of bells to ring my ears; knowing if I was on green I would also receive the grand prize that’s seen on the screen. With being put in such great predicament I was rewarded with a prize of $329.00 which made my heart drop. With my curiosity of wondering if I could win a little more money by gambling I was blessed with more money than expected. My reactions after thinking god first were me jumping with joy, celebrating with my mother and grandmother who were also blessed to win the money. It was a great day for us. As me and my mother walked out the swinging doors of the building with the smell of money trailing us we were on our way. Driving up the road with smiles on our faces talking about what just happened was our conversation as we headed home. We just couldn’t wait to spread the news to our family members that was so happy to catch the good news. Seeing them with smiles on their faces made me and my mother hearts jump out of our chest. It was a great day that ended my week.

Reaction Paper

Threw out the story the author was very fund of using imagery. He even went threw telling a story about earth and if everyone died on the planet; how would it turn out by using lots of examples of imagery. With using all five senses as he did in this quote “Would Superfund sites revert to the Garden of Eden? Would the seas again fill with fish? Would our concrete cities crumble to dust from the force of tree roots, water, and weeds?”
The author also use Taste and Smell, he mentions that if humans were not alive then animals wouldn’t survive very much longer. He also states that, “If people were no longer present anywhere on Earth, a world-wide shakeout would follow.” What Weisman means by this, is without humans then there would be nobody to take care of the animals and wildlife, causing many more animals to return back into the wild and not be able to survive. This shows imagery by allowing you to smell the stanch of rotten corps of animals and get the taste of it by you having the taste of it by the smell.
The diseases would lead to citizens going crazy and lots of chaos. Also in this world there are animals out that need guidance in order to live. Animals would also begin to tare the city, towns whatever it may be down. Weisman says, “Coyotes would invade Central Park, and deer, bears, and finally wolves would follow.” The sense of Sight falls into this quote because once again the author wants you to use your imagination to visualize what’s happening. It’s also showing the reader how life would be without humans on earth.
The affect that imagery have on the reader after reading a story like this makes them think; what if earth really was put in this predicament? How would animals really react due to the lost of humans? Would there really be chaos or would the animals live in peace? These are the questions this story makes us ask ourselves.

College Essay
I felt myself getting dizzy as the smell of the freshly cut grass hit my nostrils. Despite the fact that I had been playing football for 9 years, this practice was by far the most arduous. As my coach shouted out commands, all I could think about was my hunger consuming me. It was 12 noon in July, with a high of 90 degrees, and I had not eaten all morning. The heat and fatigue made giving up and walking off the field very enticing; however, my competitive drive wouldn’t allow me to quit.                                                                                                                    Football has made me a very driven, steadfast, and assiduous young man, which are traits I exemplify on and off the field. The same drive and dedication I utilize to run sprints and train every day, also transitions to my studies. I once read a quote by Thomas Jefferson that said, “Nothing can stop a man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude”. This quote is substantial to me because the importance of education was instilled in me at a young age.                                                        My mom and other positive role models always told me the importance of hard-work and dedication. If you have your mind set on a goal, the number one obstacle is yourself. It is easy to say you’re going to run a marathon, but the difficult part is getting up and training. The same applies to all aspects of life. Football has also taught me how to standout from others. On a football field there are lazy but talented athletes and there’re players that really take the sport serious and go 100% every play. Id likes to say I’m one of those people.
Also having the pleasure of participating in several programs and organizations, such as Every Kid Outreach, boys and girls club and Young Life that molded me into the determined, industrious, and steadfast young man I am today. Boys and Girls Club played an important role over the past several years.  It also provided me with tutoring in all my core classes, it also help me build character, which is one of the most important pieces to a young student athlete and being a good person put me in the position I am in now.
